From 1951 to 1954 he served as a judge in the District Court at Zilina. From 1955 to 1956 he was Deputy-Chairman of the District Court at Ruzomberok. From 1957 to 1966 he worked as chief expert for the Department of Supervision in the Mandatory Office of the Slovak National Council of Judgement, from 1966 to 1970 as Director of the Organizing Department, and from 1970 to 1989 as a researcher at the Law Institute of the Ministry of Judgement of the Slovak Republic. From 1990 to 1991 he served as Deputy Minister of Justice of the Slovak Republic.
He was appointed a Constitutional Court judge on January 21, 1993.
